Mayoi Neko Overrun! General Discussion on Tue Sep 28, 2010 7:06 pm
I figure MNO is worthy of a discussion too. Especially the unfairness of it being turned into a quarterly rather than monthly series. I just hope it doesn't die altogether.
As a bit of trivia: "mayoi neko" can mean either "stray cat" or "lost cat". The Japanese title uses the English word overrun, but the meaning they give it (as explained in the character book) is "bousou", which means something like "running amok", "running wild", "going on a rampage". So to an English speaker the title might imply that there are too many stray cats in the manga, i.e. it's overrunning with them. Of course, in reality there can never be too many of these cats, the intended meaning is that they have a bit of a wild side to them.
